There are so many different decisions that you will need to make as you play through Starfield. Whether it’s about which faction you’re looking to join or any other in-game decision, you might want to know in advance what to do. In the case of Governor Hurst, should you destroy Governor Hurst’s ship or turn in the evidence in Starfield when doing Red Tape Runaround?

Red Tape Runaround gives you the option to either destroy the Governor’s ship that has incriminating evidence on it or use the evidence against him. The ship in question is his own and it is currently being infiltrated by the Crimson Fleet, meaning that they won’t just hand it over to you or let you aboard without a fight. If you’re curious as to why Hurst wants you to destroy it, then you’ll want to board the ship and make your way over to the body of a woman lying on the ground.

On her person, she will have evidence against Hurst that you can use to either blackmail him or incriminate him. What you do with the ship afterward is up to you as a player. You can decide to destroy it after you kill everyone aboard or after you disembark. You have the evidence, which is really the most important part and the real devising factor of how you deal with this mission.

Should You Blackmail Hurst or Hand Over the Evidence in Starfield?

If you turn in the evidence in Starfield to Woodward, then you’ll have Hurst removed as Governor and will also get the following rewards:

  • 5,000 credits
  • Peter’s package freed

If you decide to bring the evidence to Hurst himself, he will bribe you to give it to him and make sure that no one else sees it. Doing this will grant you the following rewards:

  • 12,000 credits
  • Peter’s package freed

It’s important to note that even though this decision doesn’t have an effect on the game’s long run, it does affect the way that different people in your party view your judgment. Considering this, either be careful who you bring with you or don’t bring anyone at all if you’re looking to get a little bit more of a payday after you destroy Governor Hurst’s ship.

Starfield is now available for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
