California is known for many things. Hollywood, beautiful beaches, the random terrfying Earthquake, and much more. In Santa Monica, California, they are ready to add one more notable tourist attraction, a Burger King that doesn’t have burgers. In a rather amusing and well-timed post, a hungry citizen with a royal craving went to the national favorite fast food spot, only to find the king of beef had no meat to offer.
In a rather amusing post on the mildlyinfuriating Reddit thread by user Tycoonster, you can see the stunning display they witnessed when they pulled up to a local Santa Monica Burger King for a tasty treat. A gigantic red sign that simply says the following.
NO BURGERS. We apologize for the inconveniance, but no burgers at this time.
As you can imagine, it’s quite the shocker. It’s one thing for any other random spot to possibly be out of burgers, but a place called Burger King, you figure, would be exempt from such a culinary disaster. Many folks pointed out that this is likely due to them cleaning the broiler, but as far as we know, we don’t know if that was the cause. Many folks had interesting things to say about the incident.
“Why did they have a printed sign on hand?”
“Its still better than McDonalds that only serves burgers with the thickness of carpaccio. With the exception of the quarter pounder.”
“Sorry. Everybody quit. Go to Wendy’s instead”
“I went to a Church’s Chicken once and they were out of chicken. Why even keep the lights on? Just send everyone home.”
“Happened to me at a Popeye’s drive thru which is hysterical as I never eat Popeye’s but we were moving and I was desperate.
“The best part was there was no sign and when I went to order the employee just started rattling off all the things they didn’t have but was naming the sanwiches and meal names. I interrupted them as it was getting confusing and asked what tney did have and he said nothing with chicken…”
We can only wonder why this Santa Monica Burger King was out of burgers, or why it happens often enough that they have a pre-made sign ready to go. As for the local who snapped a picture, it turns out they were fine. They wanted a chicken sandwich anyway.
