Surely you haven’t forgotten about the legendary self-taught martial artist. The one and only Hibiki Dan might be coming to a game near you! Recently, Capcom announced via Twitter that a Winter Update show for Street Fighter V is coming on February 11, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. PST. The stream will be on Twitch.

Street Fighter V Winter Update – Details

According to Siliconera, the details of the show will include information on Dan’s debut as well as other features and upcoming characters. We may get more information on characters like Akira Kazama, the senjutsu master Oro, and Rose. Lastly, a new unidentified mechanic will be revealed in the update as well. Maybe the new mechanic will make it harder to string combos together. Long-time players can only hope.

Street Fighter V Winter Update: Dan's Debut?

Many of Street Fighter V’s releases have been affected by the pandemic. It’s great to see new updates still coming through from Capcom.

A lot of the big fighting game tournaments such as the Capcom Pro Tour have mostly been changed to online events. Most disappointing of all, EVO 2020, the most prestigious fighting game tournament, was also canceled due to COVID-19. It will be interesting to see how future Street Fighter V releases and EVO 2021 will pan out in the coming year. Will defending champion Masato “Bonchan” Takahashi win it all again? Or will a new king/queen rise?

Street Fighter V is available on PC and PlayStation 4. Cross-platform multiplayer is available for those who want to shoryuken their way through different types of players on different platforms. In the Battle Settings, you can choose to only fight against PC players or PlayStation players.

Are you excited for Street Fighter V’s Winter Update? What do you think about joke characters like Dan? Do you think someone like Tokido can make a character like that top-tier? Please share your thoughts with me in the comments below!
