Streets of Rage 4 first hit home consoles as an online in-store purchase – but now game collectors can finally get their hands on physical copies.
As of the time of writing, Streets of Rage 4 is now available as a physical purchase. Previously, the game was only available on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and the Nintendo eShop. And what’s more, if collectors buy the Signature Edition, they’ll get a handful of exclusive items to boot.
The list of features include (as per the Streets of Rage 4 physical copy’s press release):
- Five limited edition enamel pins featuring Cherry Hunter, Blaze Fielding, Axel Stone, Adam Hunter and Floyd Iraia.
- Numbered collector’s certificate.
- Axel Stone’s blue bandana complete with Streets of Rage 4 logo.
- 2CD Full Original Soundtrack.
- Packaged in a sturdy “Sierra” box with outer sleeve.
This might remind you of Limited Run Games’ Limited Edition of SoR4 from May 1. Said edition came packed with a ton of goodies including a metal Genesis-style cartridge and a statue of Axel and Blaze, two of the series’ protagonists. Unfortunately, they were only available for purchase for one day only and are no longer being sold.
But while this Signature Edition loses the statue, cartridge, Genesis cover and more from the Limited Run Games version, it still retains the soundtrack and adds Axel’s bandana to the mix. The latter may come in handy should your city become overrun by a tyrannical Syndicate and you’re forced to take matters into your own hands.
Meanwhile, the game’s standard retail edition comes packaged with a reversible cover with alternative artwork, an artbook and a keyring featuring the game’s iconic logo.
Streets of Rage 4‘s standard retail edition is out for Nintendo Switch ($39.99), PlayStation 4 ($34.99) and Xbox One ($34.99). The Signature Edition is also available for all three consoles, costing $59.99 for Switch, $54.99 for PS4 and $54.99 for Xbox One.
