Sunday Is a Must-Pull for Honkai Star Rail 3.0

Like brother, like sister

Honkai: Star Rail version 2.7 releases two new 5-star units, both support characters. The first one to arrive is the ex-villain Sunday, which the Astral Express team must beat in Penacony. Since the man is trying to redeem himself, he’ll work as an ally who will accompany you briefly. With version 3.0 getting closer, there will be even more new characters you can pull, but that doesn’t mean you should skip Sunday since he will likely become very useful in Amphoreus.

HoYoverse seems to be on a roll since they keep releasing many broken support units in Penacony. Currently, the best support character you can get in the game is Robin, who has various buff skills that can greatly boost your team’s damage. Now, Sunday decides to follow in his sister’s footsteps by also becoming another amazing Harmony unit in Honkai Star Rail.

After seeing the Amphoreus trailer, some fans may believe they want to hold on to their Stellar Jades so they can pull for the upcoming characters. However, I don’t think that it is a wise choice. HoYoverse has a habit of releasing an OP support unit before announcing various powerful DPS afterward. While you can still use these damage dealers by themselves, if you want to use their full potential, you need good support.

The most recent example is Robin, who was first released right before a wave of new powerful DPS units. If you go online, you can hardly find a showcase video that doesn’t include her. While Robin focuses on buffing FUA teams, Sunday is a character who buffs summons in Honkai Star Rail.

I’ll dip a bit into leaks territory here, but I believe Amphoreus units will tend to use summons. The first Amphoreus character you can pull is Aglea, and this woman has a summon. Not only that, but even the new Remembrance Trailblazer seems to have their own summon. Do you see what I’m seeing here?

Sunday is definitely not a bad investment. Building good support is always a better tactic than pulling for more DPS units. They’re harder to be powercrept, and they remain useful in many team comps. In short, if you want the upcoming Amphoreus DPS units to hit hard, you should pull for Sunday now, or I suppose you can wait for his rerun banner in future HSR updates.
