Today CBS and the CW Network announced that their two popular superheroes are going to meet. In an episode slated to air on March 28th, The Flash and Supergirl will meet in National City, the current setting of Supergirl. Rumors had been swirling for quite awhile about the potential crossover but how now been confirmed by Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg in a recent statement.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up! We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

Currently, Grant Gustin is only slated for the one guest appearance on Supergirl for the one-hour long episode. Details as to how the superheroes will cross paths or other potential cameos (The Green Arrow) have yet to be revealed. Given that both shows have the same Executive Producers it’s quite possible we could see Supergirl making a guest appearance on The Flash down the road.

Are you excited to see the “fastest man alive” and Kara Zor-El team up? What other superheroes would you like to make an appearance? Be sure to let us know in the comments below and check back for future updates.
