Following the four-part Supergirl-Flash-Arrow-Legends crossover, Superman’s cousin has taken a leave of absence from the airwaves partway through the season. She’s set to return in January on the CW, however, and she won’t be alone. A couple familiar faces are right behind her.

Livewire, the lightning-wielding villainess with a chip on her shoulder, will make her third appearance in the series. Having gained her powers from a bolt of lightning, Livewire attempted to kill Cat Grant, and it took both her and Supergirl to put a stop the revenge plot. Livewire made a comeback alongside Banshee, and together the two nearly succeeded in ending the show right there. Unfortunately for them, the good citizens of National City banded together and gave them a hosing.

Viewers will also see the return of Metallo. You know, the wanted killer who was turned into a robot by CADMUS, cloned, and ultimately defeated by Supergirl and Superman with some clever trickery. That guy. So who’s his evil master this time around? CADMUS again? Another member of the Luthor clan? Dr. Robotnik? Whatever the case, it goes without saying he’ll be out to robotize Supergirl and friends.

Turning over to the good guys’ corner, Mon-El finally gets another job, this time as a bartender at that place where all the aliens hang out. And what a perfect fit it seems for him. Wonder how long it takes him to blow this one. Finally, Cat Grant, who left the show early in the season, is rumored to reappear on the show for a short time. Nothing has been confirmed, but if the rumors are true, it can only be a good thing. Having been one of the series’s favorites, Cat’s return is sure to be celebrated, even if it is only temporary.
