The wait is over for fans of the latest entry to The CW’s Arrowverse. The season two trailer for Superman & Lois was released today, and it seems a lot of tension and drama, as well as a new suit, is in store for the Man of Steel this season.

Superman & Lois Season 2 Trailer (HD) Tyler Hoechlin superhero series

Entertainment Weekly put out a breakdown of the trailer, which opens with Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) venting to Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) about how things “have not been okay for months” and that she’s been blaming him. Lois vehemently denies Clark’s (Tyler Hoechlin) suggestion that it has anything to do with the arrival of Natalie (Tayler Buck), who in a parallel universe is Lois’ daughter with John Henry Irons (Wolé Parks). We also see Superman at odds with the military for his refusal to pledge unconditional loyalty to the United States over the rest of the world. In particular, there is tension between him and Lt. Mitch Anderson, who is portrayed by Hoechlin’s Teen Wolf castmate Ian Bohen. And if all that’s not enough, scenes of Superman under medical examinations and Clark collapsing to the ground and warning his family away suggests something is glitchy with his powers.

Family dynamics are making things more complicated. Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alex Garfin) are troubled by the issues between their parents, Natalie is not happy about her father partnering with Superman, and Jonathan seems to be getting hormonal with his new girlfriend. and of course, there’s Lois’ father Sam Lane (Dylan Walsh) always putting his two cents in.

Superman & Lois premiered in 2021 to much praise. People loved it for many reasons including strong family dynamics, lack of cheesiness, and high production value. Fans have been excited for months to see a second season, and based on what we see in the season two trailer, they’ve got good reason to be. They can also look forward to more family dynamics when Jenna Dewan shows up as Lois’ sister Lucy, a role she originally played on Supergirl.

Superman & Lois season two will premiere on January 11. What do you all think of the Superman & Lois season two trailer? Are you excited about what the show has in store? Talk to us in the comments.
