Taking care of kids isn’t an easy job, especially when you have to be extra wary of predators. Recently, parents in Houston have been urged to be more cautious with their children. A Redditor by the name of Mobile-Pair5791 posted a distressing thread documenting a suspicious man in a blue car. The man has often been seen filming children as they leave an unnamed elementary school in Houston. He repeatedly moved to different spots in the parking lot while keeping a close watch on any child walking outside.
The Redditor’s sister was the one who first spotted the suspicious man. She even managed to record him filming students, but he quickly left the area after realizing he had been noticed. Concerned about a potential predator near the Houston school, she reported the incident to the principal. Unfortunately, the man returned the next day. She then spoke with the assistant principal, who brought in a campus officer to confront him in his car. He left soon after, and campus police remained stationed during pickup time to monitor the parking lot.
Although the cop still showed up the following day, they didn’t stick around the whole time. When the man saw that the area was clear, he quickly approached the school in his car. This became his new habit—driving slowly and lingering around the area while avoiding the guard. He only dared to get closer when no campus police were present near the Houston school. “After he drives around the parking lot like a weirdo, he LEAVES. Like, that’s such predatory behavior to me,” the Redditor wrote.
Planning the Next Step
The Redditor and their sister are now at a loss about what to do. They asked other Redditors for advice on their next steps. People agreed that the man is suspicious and should be stopped. Some questioned why the Redditor didn’t share the license plate, but the original poster explained that they don’t want to reveal it yet.
“As messed up as this is, if there’s even a small chance this is somehow explainable in a way that isn’t as creepy as it seems, I don’t think posting his license plate would be the smart thing to do and might get the post removed, which means less exposure,” Mobile-Pair5791 replied.
Others suggested that the Redditor and their sister contact Grizzy’s Hood News, a Houston-based news platform. This media outlet often covers small local stories that mainstream media typically overlook. “She saw the comments a few people left about Grizzy, and she’s sending it there, probably with the license uncovered. They can do with that what they want,” Mobile-Pair5791 replied.
