So many people just bustling around, sharing their wins and happy moments with those around them. We need more of that, to share in the joy of others getting what they deserve. When one woman in New York learned someone close to her finally had something right happen for once. It was a local homeless man in Manhattan, who was elated to share great news. The woman was so touched, she had to share it on social media, and I couldn’t be rooting for him more.
TikToker Livefrom.newyork—Gianna—is already crying when she starts her video, stating, “I just saw my local homeless guy, Danny.” She said she’s “legit never seen” his “spirits break” and he always has a positive attitude. Danny always tells everyone who walks past him to “have a beautiful day” and just sounds like a gem to be around.
Gianna says she did something she usually does for him, which is buying him a soda and a water. She also grabbed him a bag of chips and then came outside, where she saw him talking to another man he knew.
When Gianna approached Danny with his items, he told both of them that he’s “leaving in nine days.” His reasoning? No one knows. Not even Gianna. According to her, she didn’t want to “pry” because he was just “really happy.” Why spoil the moment with questions, right? She did the right thing by just enjoying the moment with him!
But Danny was rather vague about it. He told them, “God answered my prayers” and left it at that. In tears, Gianna explained she would miss Danny and told him as much. However, she told him she was so happy for him and his good news. Danny tells her, “Every time you walk by here, just remember to have a beautiful day and it’ll be like I’m still here.”
One commenter suggested, “Someone should erect a ‘have a beautiful day on his corner in his honor. Community is what will save us.” And what a wonderful way to continue a legacy. A place can remind us so much of a good memory and be a reminder for others. You create a kinder place.
One commenter told Gianna to “never lose” her compassion for other people. If we can’t even be bothered to pat someone on the back for something good, what’s the point? The love others still have for people, despite it all, will always keep us going during hard times.
