Sydney Sweeney had the best response to critics of her latest workwear collection. The Euphoria actress recently debuted her second workwear line in collaboration with Ford on Instagram. The new products, which were inspired by the star’s vintage Ford Mustang, received a positive response from fans. However, there were a number of men in Sweeney’s comments section who criticized her for the collaboration. After accusing her of not being a real grease monkey, Sweeney fired back at her haters by sharing a video of her in full-on mechanic mode.
Sydney Sweeney Defends New Workwear Collection
In Sweeney’s latest Instagram, the actress promoted her new workwear collection by sharing photos of her and other women modeling her clothes. The collection, which was manufactured by Dickies, includes a crop t-shirt, corduroy hat, racing jacket, coveralls, and keychain. Sweeney said she was “super excited” to share her new workwear collection with fans because it was inspired by her “new baby,” aka, a vintage Ford Mustang. According to Ford, she nicknamed her car “Britney” after the vehicle’s original color, Brittany Blue.
Sweeney’s latest collaboration with Ford came seven months after they teamed up for their first workwear collection in April. Considering the original line sold out in 31 hours, it’s no wonder Sweeney and Ford decided to team up again.
After seeing her new line, fans congratulated Sweeney on the release. Unfortunately, there were also several trolls who criticized Sweeney for the collection. The critics, who were mostly men, accused the star of not being a true grease monkey. For example, one person said Sweeney’s hands or clothes never appeared “dirty,” so she couldn’t be a mechanic. Meanwhile, others left comments testing Sweeney’s knowledge about cars.
Sweeney responded to criticism of her workwear collection by sharing a video on her Instagram Stories proving her skills as a mechanic. The clip, which the actress also shared to her mechanic TikTok, featured Sweeney working on a car. She captioned her video:
To the lovely men in the comments of my newest post, let me know if you need any help with your car. I know a lot of female mechanics who can help you.
