Taylor Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce has been exciting for fans. However, the singer has been accused of being a distraction for the NFL tight end and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs. As the playoffs kick off, football legend Brett Favre weighed in with his thoughts. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback claims that if the Chiefs are unable to make it to the Super Bowl, Swift will be under fire from fans and the media.
According to TMZ, Favre was asked his thoughts about Swift and Kelce’s relationship as it pertained to the Kansas City season and playoff run. When the claims of the singer’s presence at the games being a distraction were mentioned, the NFL icon didn’t hold back. Unfortunately, his prediction is bleak when it comes to Swift.
Brett Favre Makes a Bold Prediction About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
“I think it’ll be a distraction if they don’t make it to the Super Bowl,” he said. “If they don’t win it or get to the Super Bowl, people are going to say, ‘That’s why.’” Favre also added that he believes that the Chiefs have a great chance to make it back to the championship game. “Until someone proves me otherwise, I think they’ll go all the way.”
While Taylor Swift has been at the center of plenty of football talk, it was revealed earlier in the NFL season that Travis Kelce appeared to play better when she attended his games. Page Six reports that Kelce has even considered Swift a good luck charm for him. However, the singer has still gotten hate from some ruthless Kansas City fans.
Recently, Swift found an unlikely ally in sports analyst Stephen A. Smith, who defended her against all of the negative press. “I have to take a moment to come to the defense of Taylor Swift. Everybody’s sitting up there and acting like she’s some kind of impediment,” Smith said. “To show up at a football game and the cameras are on her—that ain’t her fault. Taylor Swift is their girl. Let’s show some respect.”
Despite the drama, Taylor Swift has continued to support Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether Brett Favre is correct about the possible blame the singer will get remains to be seen.
