Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour experienced a minor setback in New Orleans. While performing her third show at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday night, the singer was forced to think quickly after a piece of her set broke down. She was supposed to move across the stage using a platform (which fans have dubbed the “TayRoomba”). However, when it failed to turn on, Swift took matters into her own hands by improvising. Footage of the incident has since gone viral. Fans can’t help but praise the pop star for how she handled it like a pro.
Taylor Swift’s New Orleans Concert Didn’t Go As Planned
The stage malfunction happened during The Tortured Poets Department portion of Taylor Swift’s New Orleans concert. She was performing the fan-favorite track “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” when things began to go wrong. Usually, Swift would seamlessly move down the catwalk using the “TayRoomba.” Her backup dancers would follow suit by moving along the stage with her. However, Swift found herself unexpectedly stuck in place when her platform refused to budge.
Instead of letting the incident mess up her performance, Swift improvised by jumping off the platform and walking the rest of the way. Her backup dancers quickly took notice of the change and began to follow her.
The pop star’s quick thinking didn’t stop there, however. Since she also uses the moving platform during “Down Bad,” Swift was forced to perform the song without the TayRoomba for the first time on the Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift’s stage malfunction has gone viral among fans. They all had the same reaction after watching clips of the incident: Nothing can phase the star. “Taylor Swift is such a seasoned professional,” one fan wrote on X. “True definition of the show must go on this woman is forever putting on the best shows,” another person commented.
The Eras Tour will take over Indianapolis next before hitting Toronto and Vancouver.
