Taylor Swift is arguably the biggest music star in the world. The singer is fresh off of her record-breaking Eras tour and recently released her beloved The Tortured Poets Department Album in 2024. So, what’s next for the global icon? How about the Super Bowl? Sources claim that Swift is the only person that the NFL is even remotely interested in when it comes to finding the 2026 Halftime performer.
According to the U.S. Sun, only Taylor Swift can create the “unique” show that the NFL is looking for in next year’s Super Bowl performer. The singer, who could easily perform a medley of her biggest hits and have an entire arena on their feet, is said to be the main target of the NFL when it comes to planning next year’s show.
Of course, Swift’s ties to the NFL through her Kansas City Chiefs tight-end boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is also a plus. Sources tell the outlet that having Taylor play the Halftime Show would be “historical” and likely rake in the “best numbers ever” for the telecast. The singer is also said to be a more family-friendly option after Kendrick Lamar had some fans complaining on social media after his performance. Although the rapper’s Halftime Show was highly praised by many, the NFL allegedly wants to go in a different direction in 2026.
Taylor Swift In Talks To Headline The 2026 Super Bowl

“We want an international superstar, someone that the whole world knows and that for sure would make an unbelievable show. That person is Taylor Swift. We will do everything to make it happen next year,” an insider dished.
“It’s in everyone’s mouth, in everyone’s priority and we know that we will make history if she accepts to do the 2026 Halftime show. It would be a massive win for us, and a way to promote the NFL all over the world at a much bigger level,” the source added.
The informant also confessed that some fans have been vocal about wanting to see country music superstar Carrie Underwood tackle the Halftime Show. However, the source says that it’s not in the cards for the foreseeable future. Underwood, who recently stirred up controversy by performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration, could bring too much drama with her as the NFL is looking to dial down the scandal next season.
Of course, Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his team, The Kansas City Chiefs, have played in the last three Super Bowls. If Kelce returns to the team and they go all the way again, the singer may already be at the big game. So, why not perform?
Taylor Swift would certainly be a huge draw for the NFL if they could get her to play the Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, the busy singer may have to check her schedule and figure out if it’s something that’s in the cards for her next year.
