Taylor Swift experienced a technical glitch on stage during her Eras tour concert in Dublin this weekend. The Europe stop of Taylor’s long-running Eras tour has seen its fair share of memorable stage moments. From the Cruel Summer crooner openly dissing her old nemesis Kim Kardashian to having her beau join her on stage for a dramatic performance. While it all seems well-rehearsed and put together, as Dave Grohl suggested, a recent glitch leaves a lot to be questioned.
On Saturday, Taylor Swift graced the fully packed Aviva Stadium in Dublin for another mindblowing concert. However, while belting out the lyrics of her song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, a set malfunction nearly derailed the show.
Set Malfunction Leaves Taylor Swift Trapped During Stage Performance
In the video, which is making the rounds on social media, the star sang from the top of a high platform. However, when it came time to descend, the platform failed to lower, leaving a disconcerted Taylor looking for a way out. At some point, she sat close to the edge of the platform as if considering a jump.
Thankfully, one of the dancers sensed the set malfunction in time and rushed up to Taylor, carrying her down in one swift swoop. Impressively, they managed to make the move appear as part of the choreographed performance, deflecting further crisis.
The set malfunction played out on Saturday, during Taylor Swift’s second Eras tour concert in Dublin. Thankfully, the rest of the evening went smoothly, leaving attendees elated. The star further thrilled her Dublin fans by revealing that the city (Ireland) was the major inspiration behind her fantasy-inspired album released during the pandemic. Her admission sparked wild applause across the stadium, making for a fulfilling night.
Taylor would have one more concert at the Dublin stadium on Sunday night before jetting off to Amsterdam next weekend for her next stop.
