The gown, made by Oscar De La Renta, matched Swift’s blue eyeshadow and heels. The color appears to be a nod toward Swift’s upcoming fourth re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Since the project arrives in just a few weeks, it only made sense Swift would want to celebrate early at her Eras Tour movie premiere.

Fans can’t get over Taylor Swift’s blue dress since it gave off major 1989 vibes. The gown, which features a floral pattern, is the same shade of blue as the artwork for Swift’s upcoming album. The cover art for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) shows Swift smiling as a flock of birds flies behind her in the sky. Even the back covers of Swift’s album feature her in front of a sky-blue backdrop.
While Taylor Swift’s blue dress is seemingly a nod toward her album cover, it could also be a reference to the time she first announced 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Swift revealed 1989 would be her next re-recorded album during her Aug. 9 concert at SoFi Stadium. Fans suspected she would make the announcement that day due to the show’s date, 8/9, aka 89. They became more convinced when Swift appeared on stage in a blue dress that she had never worn before on tour. Swift then confirmed their suspicions by revealing that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) would drop on Friday, Oct. 27.
