The teaser trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate has arrived with a host of new/familiar faces and explosive sci-fi mixed in with good ol’ killer robot fighting action.

Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) returns to protect a young woman along with the aid of a new type of Terminator. This young woman is possibly the key to ending this dark future where Skynet wins. However, there’s another vicious Terminator on their heels determined to end their lives and hope.

Terminator: Dark Fate marks James Cameron’s franchise return since his last effort with Terminator 2: Judgement Day. He’s been a little busy making billions off sinking ships and playing with 3-D. Cameron pens the story with The Dark Knight writer David S. Goyer for what is being seen as the true sequel to T2.

Deadpool Director Tim Miller makes the trip to this dark future, leaving behind the over-the-top comedy to bring his unique brand of action.

This is only Miller’s second major directorial role, so Cameron to giving him the reigns must mean something. That something could be a really good sign or as bad as fitting a whole season into six episodes (Yes, the salt is still there).

Terminator: Dark Fate

Like the Halloween series, Terminator has multiple sequels that made the stories more convoluted than planning a trip with Luis from Ant-Man. Terminator: Dark Fate aims for what Halloween (2018) did by taking things back to basics while continuing from T2

Terminator: Dark Fate is scheduled for a Nov. 1st release this fall, just enough time for everyone to get in running shape for when the robots take over.
