Melissa Hutchison, a voice actor for Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead, has issued a statement about the company’s closure.
“Hello friends. I am so very deeply moved by the messages of love that I, and the folks from Telltale Games have been receiving. Yesterday was one of the toughest days ever. A lot of hearts were broken, including mine.”
Hutchison voiced the character Clementine, a core heroine who was set to be the protagonist of The Final Season. Hutchison is also known for her role in Telltale Games‘ The Wolf Among Us, WarioWare Gold, and Yo-kai Watch.
“I, unfortunately, like most of you, do not have the details on how this all came to be and I also do not know the fate of the final season of TWD. To my knowledge, they will release Episode 2 and then that will be it. It hurts me that you, the fans, will not get to see Clem’s journey through to the end. It hurts me that all of the insanely talented people who made this game won’t get to see all of their hard work played out, and are instead thrust into now having to look for work. It hurts to know that all of the extremely talented actors who lent voice to this final season won’t get to experience the final ending of one of the best damn game titles in the history of games. And it hurts to know that long awaited titles like a second season of The Wolf Among Us won’t be made.”
Telltale Games is expected to release a full statement soon regarding the details of the closure and the fate of their games. Aside from The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, the company is also known for Batman: The Enemy Within, Minecraft: Story Mode, and Game of Thrones.
