Next week, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series Episode 4: ‘Sons of Winter’ will at last be released. The dates for release on various platforms are as follows:

May 26 – PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 (SCEA/North America)

May 27 – Xbox One, Xbox 360

May 28 – iOS and Android-based devices

May 29 – PlayStation 3 (SCEE/Europe)

On their blog, Telltale also teased a sneak peek of what hardships and victories lie ahead of the Forresters, their friends and foes and even those who are yet suspiciously neither:

For all the HBO show and book fans, it looks like all the favorite locations are back, and many of the original characters as well. Old hatreds will clearly boil to the surface, fleshing out Telltale’s characters (as they’re so great at doing), and ancient grudges promise to weave together desperately-needed alliances that may finally put Gryff Whitehill in his place. (That alone is reason enough to look forward to episode four.) Sneaking, fighting, roaring, stomping… All those Game of Thrones sounds we love are thrown at us in this new trailer.

And in some of Telltale’s own screenshots, we can glimpse even more of what’s to come. It even seems Gared Tuttle is going to have a run-in with a wildling…

Which can mean only one thing. That’s right. We’re going beyond the Wall. (What an apt metaphor for all this episode promises to be.)

As ever, power shifts are coming to the world of Westeros and Essos. They certainly won’t all be sweet to witness. Some will likely be vile. Vows will be broken. Life is on the line. Decisions will have to be made—by you, in real time. But that’s what we love about Game of Thrones. Nothing ever ends simply or prettily.

Good luck, fellow gamers, and remember, lest you forget when things are starting to look bright… ‘Sons of Winter’ is coming.
