While speaking through tears in a TikTok video, a woman in Tennessee is alleging that a FedEx driver, who is known in her area for speeding, ran over her corgi on her private dirt road and left the scene without stopping. She claims that she and her family witnessed the incident in real time.
The mom of two said the driver was not delivering a package to her home but to a residence further down the road, and had pulled into her driveway to turn around before heading back out. As he reversed out, the driver reportedly struck her dog, who was sitting near the end of the driveway, and didn’t even stop afterward or attempt to apologize.
“The careless, careless actions of a FedEx driver today killed my dog,” she said, struggling to compose herself as she explained that her three-year-old child also watched it happen.
She Says She Faced Many Challenges Just to Report the Incident
The woman alleged that when she contacted FedEx through their automated system to report that a driver had hit her dog, the call disconnected each time, forcing her to locate an old tracking number just to reach a live representative.
After finally getting through, she said she spent nearly an hour being transferred and placed in queues before someone took her concerns seriously. She also claimed that, as of now, the company had not presented any plan to assist with burial or cremation costs for the pet. The local authorities, according to her, initially resisted letting her file a police report because they “don’t have time to deal with a dog being hit,” but are now assisting.
In the comments under her TikTok post, the woman clarified that her dogs wear satellite GPS collars and remain within a permitted area on their private road. She explained that she would have received alerts if the animal had wandered beyond the boundary. She also noted that the vehicle involved was a smaller FedEx van, not a large delivery truck, and claimed the same driver had previously been asked to slow down because children also live along the road.
While reflecting on the loss of her pet, whom she has had for six years, she said, “That dog was with me through some of the worst times of my life before I had kids and he sat with me through my entire first pregnancy.”
