Stalkers can be scary and unpredictable, but one woman who was from Tennessee managed to take the bull by the horns and seemingly toy with her stalker. Thus, her otherwise nightmarish scenario got turned into a viral social media content because the Tennessee woman not only dealt with the stalker face-on in the midst of his marriage proposal, but also kept the ring, leading many people to question her survival instincts.
TikTok user Natalie LaClair, aka Octavia, is the woman in question. On October 23, Octavia uploaded a clip of her stalker pulling off a surprise marriage proposal right at the front door of her mother’s house in Tennessee. He even brought flowers and a ring, though, despite the typically “romantic” gesture, there was certainly something off with it, mostly because he’s a 46-year-old stalker proposing to a woman in her 20s:
Octavia’s video has since garnered over 10 million views. In it, you can hear her stalker saying, “Just say no,” as it appears he was fully aware of how absurd his proposal was. Octavia even replied with, “Are you gonna stop harassing me now?” while accepting the flower and the ring. Of course, Octavia rejected the stalker, because they’re “not even dating.”
In a follow-up video, she addressed all the questions in the comment section and provided some backstory. Apparently, Octavia knew the stalker and met him while she was still in Oklahoma, though they were “never a couple” and “never slept together.” Still, they apparently hung out, and he took her shopping and even gave her gifts. Somehow, she “tolerated” the man and even asked him to help her when she needed to move to Tennessee, which was how he knew her location.

The story gets weirder, however, after Octavia revealed that he kept the ring that her stalker gave and even wore it despite saying no to her stalker. Octavia was also complacent about her safety since she moved a few days after the stalker proposed to her, though the stalker already knew the location of her mother’s house.
To make matters even more concerning, TikTok users managed to dig up the stalker’s supposed rap sheet and found out he allegedly had several criminal charges involving trespassing, kidnapping, assault, drug possession, and deadly conduct all the way from 2013. Many commenters have hence warned Octavia, assuming they actually identified the same man and not just a lookalike.
“Girl!!!!! 😳😳😳😳 Based on his criminal history/charges you need to immediately get you some safety plans in place!!! And he’s not going to stop even with a restraining order!! Girllll!!! He kidnapped someone already!! He’s got violent acts on his record!! I’m terrified for you!” warns a concerned TikToker.
However, several people have also raised their eyebrows at Octavia’s intentions, since for many, she appears to be leading the stalker on. Some commenters even questioned, “Are you wearing the ring?” while another pointed out, “You’re playing a dangerous game 😭.” So far, it seems Octavia is currently safe in her new locale, and she hasn’t given further updates about her stalker.
