A young woman from New York was on her way to her father’s home for Christmas. Sitting on a bus, she was approached and harassed by an unknown man, making the trip a terrifying experience.
The worrying story was shared by TikTok user joleene_d (Joleene), who is the young woman’s mother. According to her, her 22-year-old daughter was visiting her father for the holidays, and she added that he had bought her a bus ticket, noting that the man lived in another state.
“This isn’t my favorite mode of transportation,” Joleene said. “But regardless, no matter where a woman is, she’s not safe.”
According to the New York mother, the tense atmosphere began while her daughter was in the bus terminal. The young woman was approached by a man who asked her to buy him a cup of coffee. She refused, but the man wouldn’t let go, even looking at her phone to see what she was watching.
All the while, Joleene was on a call with her daughter, reassuring her that she was not alone and telling her not to be afraid. After all, her bus was about to come, and she would brush off this horrible incident.
Joleene’s daughter got on the bus, but her nightmare was far from over. The creepy stranger sat right next to her. Joleene asked, “What are the chances that he’s not only on her bus, but he’s assigned to sit next to her?“

The woman, worried sick, thought about telling the 22-year-old to get off the bus. She even thought about buying her daughter an airline ticket. However, things turned for the better, as another woman approached the man and told him he was sitting in the wrong seat. The man moved, and the lady sat next to Joleene’s daughter.
“Whoever this woman that sat on that bus this morning with my daughter, thank you,” Joleene said. She added that while it was the woman’s assigned seat, she offered to stay with her daughter until her father arrived.
Meanwhile, the man got off at a bathroom stop during the trip and never made it back on the bus. Joeleene, perhaps believing that man got on the bus just to harass her daughter, said, “We’re surrounded by predators. They’re everywhere.”
Many users reacted to the clip. While some comforted the clearly upset New York woman, the majority criticized the father’s decision to make his daughter take the bus.
