Airport bureaucracy can get rather bad for many people, and even disabled travelers are now affected, such as in one case that happened to a man with a prosthetic leg in the DFW airport in Texas. The person with disability naturally used the disabled access line in the airport, but was shocked after TSA (airport security) seemingly tried to deny him access, later pointing out that he didn’t seem to have a wheelchair or crutches to indicate his disability.
Brandon Todd from Atlanta, Georgia, is the person with disability in question, and in July 2025, he went to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Airport in Texas for a trip, only to be “denied access” to the line designated for passengers with mobility needs by a TSA agent. Todd thankfully captured the incident on camera and uploaded it on February 22. The clip went viral quickly on multiple platforms.
In the video, you can see Todd already arguing with TSA that his prosthetic leg counts as a mobility aid, even though the airport’s presentation specifically featured a wheelchair as a mobility aid. The TSA agent then responded with, “That is your disability?” and even argued with Todd further about his condition, seemingly in disbelief that a one-legged man wearing a prosthetic leg is considered disabled.
Apart from the prosthetic leg, Todd can also be seen clutching a retracted walking stick in one of his hands, though he wasn’t using it at that time. In any case, Todd filed a formal complaint with the TSA, and it appears he hasn’t filed a lawsuit regarding the matter. Todd sharing the video was an advocacy to push for better disability and accessibility, especially in airports and public places.
People Online are Calling for a Lawsuit
While Todd was clear about his intentions regarding the video, saying, “I’m sharing this to raise awareness and encourage continued training, clarity, and respect when interacting with travelers with disabilities,” people online apparently want more sanctions for the TSA. One Instagram commenter even suggested that Todd could easily win a lawsuit, “Congrats on your lawsuit 😁,” with another echoing the suggestion, “That’s a clear lawsuit. Ignorance is gonna cost them a PRETTY penny.”
So far, Todd hasn’t released an update on what happened to his complaint to the TSA or whether TSA’s operation in DFW Airport improved for people with disabilities. Other commenters have pointed out that the TSA agent was not really following proper procedure, “You’re not even allowed to ask someone what their disability is. My daughter has a non visible disability. This is going against everything the ADA has made.”
Even alleged TSA employees in the comment section have chimed in on the matter on how Todd should’ve handled the situation, “As a former TSA employee, should have called for a supervisor because he was poorly trained. You can see there is a disability so at that point, he should have processed you as a person with a disability and asked NO questions. You’re not to ask that at all. TF!!!”
