A Texas congresswoman from the 30th District has just delivered a fiery speech during a recent House hearing, calling out President Donald Trump and Republicans as a whole over what she described as their misplaced priorities surrounding the Epstein documents. The clip of her remarks was posted on her official TikTok page, and a lot of netizens are now reacting to it, especially after she referred to Trump as a “lame duck president” and even threw a surprising jab at Senator JD Vance in the process.
The Texas Rep’s Statement
In the video, the congresswoman argued that Republicans were being hypocritical in the way they suddenly wanted to discuss Jeffrey Epstein. According to her, for nearly two months, members of Congress had avoided raising the case. Now, however, the Republicans were eager to talk about it as if they had always been ready for an “honest conversation” about the survivors, victims, and advocates who needed support long ago.
She believed that Republicans often blame former President Joe Biden for everything, including issues he did not cause, and that they were now presenting the release of the Epstein files as if it were a major campaign promise Biden had failed to address. “Joe Biden didn’t campaign on it,” she said. “If y’all can run me the tape, then run me the tape.” The representative added that the GOP decided to “hang” themselves with the issue because they campaigned on the Epstein files. At the same time, Democrats focused on affordability, economic pressures, and the day-to-day concerns Americans repeatedly say they need to be addressed.

The lawmaker also accused Republicans of creating the very problems they now claim they want to fix, arguing that Trump’s tariffs were essentially “taxes,” and that his plans would make food and goods more expensive, despite his attempt to brand himself as the one who would reduce food prices. “People are starving in this country,” she remarked. “It is wrong to have 42 million people that are relying on $6 a day to eat. And we have the money because somehow our president was able to find under the couch cushion, the one that JD wasn’t sitting on… 40 billion to send to Argentina.”
Before ending her statement, the congresswoman referenced the election results from November 4th, suggesting that the Republicans’ attitude may be why they are losing “real bad.” She then suggested that if they redirected their priorities toward issues ordinary Americans actually care about, such as food security and affordability, they might have a better chance of getting reelected.
What Netizens Are Saying About the Congresswoman’s Viral Remarks
Hundreds of viewers praised her passion and her willingness to say what many felt others had avoided. One person wrote, “Not JD Vance catching a stray. 🤣” A second commented, “Finally someone that will stand up and say what everyone should be saying!!!!” A third remarked, “I would not wanna be on her bad side 🤣” Another viewer said, “She stay on they necks with the truth. I love this about her.”
Many people also echoed her frustration with how Republicans approach the Epstein files, with one writing, “They will still find a way to blame Biden and the democrats 😭.” Someone else added, “They are too eager to release the files now so I don’t even trust it at this point. Keep calling them out for letting people go hungry!”
