A Texas woman posted online about helping her daughter with an indoor yard sale, only for her landlord to have a complete meltdown. She argued tenants weren’t allowed to have people in the house, let alone an indoor yard sale.
TikToker Mimichmiel posted the confrontation she had with her daughter’s landlord, who started making everything into a problem. For starters, Mimichmiel’s daughter couldn’t have an indoor yard sale. Secondly, strangers weren’t allowed inside the house, despite being invited.
In her video, TikToker Mimichmiel tries to reason with the landlord, telling her it’s unsettling that she’s “coming in here when we have guests.” The landlord argues otherwise, saying they don’t count as guests before they “do not know these people.” Mimichmiel fires back, saying they had a birthday party with 50 people and they “didn’t know all of them.”
After the police arrive to take statements, it’s learned that the landlord called a judge to evict Mimichmiel’s daughter from the home as an “emergency” because of their yard sale. They share how ridiculous that is, given that Mimichmiel’s daughter “has four days left on her lease.” In fact, the whole point of the yard sale was for moving.
According to police, the landlord was concerned strangers would cause damage and case the home. It seems the landlord is trying to create as many issues as possible for her before she leaves for good. The renter tells police, “I don’t want her coming back here and this being a problem again.”

Viewers were pretty shocked by how the landlord handled the situation, so much so that commenters wanted to know enough to avoid renting in the area. “Oh this is local to me???? Yeah let me make sure I don’t rent from her,” one commenter wrote.
Mimichmiel added further details in the comment section, too. “She went around and pulled up all our signs we paid for to advertise for the sale,” Mimichmiel stated. In the thread that followed, a viewer argued that if she could prove it, it might count as “vandalism or possibly destruction of private property.”
Others wanted Mimichmiel to share the news beyond her TikTok. “Omg that’s in Kilgore?!? Post it on all things Longview!!!” A post like that on Facebook would make news travel fast!
Mimichmiel has not said whether she’ll press charges, or whether they can at all. That said, viewers online argued the landlord was totally in the wrong and acted like a “control freak.”
