A Texas man was filmed sitting on top of a traffic pole as a first responder worked to carefully reach him. A local creator happened to catch the whole moment on video, and a news outlet later confirmed he came down unharmed. Understandably, commenters were left puzzled over how he even managed to get up there in the first place.
Posted to TikTok by @lisamoreno08, the video shows the man perched on the pole as the Texas creator drives past recording the scene along I-10 East. A firefighter can be seen approaching him on a crane.
A follow-up update from HTX Media, shared on Facebook, said the man was safely brought down by authorities without further incident. The post said he was eventually transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Confusion (and Concern) in the Comments
The comment section was filled with plenty of questions. “How he get up there and they have to use a ladder,” one commenter asked. Another user echoed the same disbelief, writing, “How in the hell did he get up there!”
For other viewers, the scene was peak Texas. “Houston, we need to get our act TOGETHER,” one wrote. Another added, “It’s always something stupid happening here.” The city’s surveillance cameras even got dragged into it. “It’s cool when the flock cameras do it, it’s a problem when he does it,” one user joked.
Others didn’t see much to laugh about, instead expressing concern for what the man might have been going through. “That baby need help a hug probably someone to talk to,” one suggested. While another viewer simply said, “Life hard asf I don’t even blame dude.”
In the end, though many commenters found something to joke about, there was clearly more going on than what was captured on camera. Even when something looks crazy from the outside, it’s worth remembering that there’s a human being this is happening to.
