The war on drugs has been long lost, decades ago as many folks turn to dealing looking for a quick buck or two. Fortunately, there are also citizens who do their part to denounce and take down these bad eggs. Take, for example, this case from Reddit, where a man in Texas caught a young drug dealer using a drone to record critical footage. Technology is a crucial and very useful tool as long as it is in the right hands.
Redditor H1gh_Tr3ason shared on r/interestingasfuck a video shot by a drone. The footage shows an aerial shot of a guy meeting more people on a horse to sell some very suspicious bags. Fortunately, all of this was recorded because a man in Texas was flying his drone in the area when he caught this young drug dealer after a sale. Although the crook tried to run away, hide, and cover his identity, the truth is that he did it very badly, and the drone recorded all his attempts.
The best part is that the drone not only caught the drug dealer in the middle of a sale but also all the “customers” who bought something from him. Many of these buyers did notice the drone and even gave it several obscene hand gestures. In addition, the drone pilot also got incredible images of how police officers caught the drug dealer and then how they thanked the camera.
Now wait a couple years, we might see swarms of AI controlled drones just zooming and scanning in certain areas.

This comment does not seem so far from reality. However, many people remembered more about the Half-Life 2 scanners and how to deal with them, as the people in this video tried to do.
Let me get my crowbar.

Many more users continued to discuss in comments how high a drone can fly, but many agreed that this videographer’s intervention was very useful. They also added that there are many better drone models from the military that can fly higher and have better zoom and images, so they would be more difficult to find. It’s amazing to see how technology can help the emergency services, even with small operations. At least this was of some help in much larger and more delicate operations, but at least there is one less dealer on the streets.
