There are not a lot of things more frustrating than having something stolen from you, and that’s exactly how a Texas man felt after some criminals stole his trailer. Gage Lane is a Texas native whose trailer was stolen from his home. However, thanks to his wife, Amanda, documenting the journey via TikTok, viewers now know the complete story of how he got it back. An epic sting operation allegedly helped Gage retrieve his beloved trailer, and the internet is loving it.
Thanks to Amanda’s now-viral TikTok, this Texas man has been able to share his story with the world, as well as entertain countless social media users. According to The Mary Sue, the video has over 11.3 million views, to go along with 13.2K likes. TikTok explains the sting operation in which the Texas man participated with law enforcement. As they attempt to retrieve the stolen object, they encounter the alleged thief in a Home Depot parking lot.
How Did This Texas Man Find His Stolen Trailer So Fast
Gage had found the thief by searching for trailers for sale online in their area. Interestingly, according to the source, Gage’s trailer appeared right away. The item was priced at $1,400, and with the cooperation of the police, Gage arranged to “buy” his trailer back. In a second video, the Texas man approaches the car of the alleged suspect.
The vehicle is depicted as a white SUV with Gage’s trailer attached to the back. After asking the man some questions like where he got the trailer, Gage finally drops the bombshell. “I had one stolen out of my driveway a couple of days ago,” says Gage. He would then ask the man if he knew anything about that. Although he had said he didn’t, the police soon made themselves known. Social media users seemed to really enjoy that part, as one user even jokingly commented, “God bless America.”
The man selling the stolen trailer was later arrested for theft. The Texas man would then turn to the camera and happily state his joy. This seems to be a pretty rare case, however. Typically, civilians are not permitted to participate in arrests. This is due to the potential danger an arresting officer may face at times. A concealed weapon of any amount of violence could have put Gage Lane in a very scary situation.
Although at least this time around, the Texas man got his justice and a remarkable story. Gage Lane can sleep peacefully now, knowing he got his trailer back with his own hands. As for the man who stole the thing in the first place, crime never pays.
