Watching parents go into superhero mode to protect their children will never not be satisfying. A Texas mom in Lake Jackson had an unwelcome visitor at her house — peeping into her 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom window. Once spotted, the peeping tom quickly made a run for it in an attempt to escape. He tried to dash past the mom and her daughter but couldn’t have expected what happened next. The enraged mother got into a grappling position and straight-up tackled the fleeing suspect, taking him down to the pavement.
“[My] First instinct was to just make sure he didn’t go any further,” the mom said, according to CBS. “I figured at least I could do, if I got him down, tripped him up, whatever, then they’d have a chance to get caught up.” With the help of her daughter, she pinned the pervert to the ground until police were able to take him away. Impressed and amused, one of the officers fist-bumped the mom and remarked, “Hey, so I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker.” He’s not the only one who thinks the mother made a “pretty good tackle.”
“Every NFL team should call her,” exclaims a Redditor reacting to the takedown. “Look at that form tackle. He’s running, and she still got him lol.” Another praises her form with a detailed observation, “Sunk hips, chin up, kept her head out of the strike, wrapped up center mass, kept her feet moving to the ground, finished on top.” They concluded with the praise, “You could use this film to train American football or rugby tackles.”
Another commenter commended how the brave Texas mom prepared herself before moving in on her target and activating “brick wall mode.” It started with a little encouraging push from her daughter to “her hair doing a lil side-to-side as she zoned in on her target, [and] the calculated push of her cell phone down into her pocket” before she hurled the peeping tom to the pavement. Hundreds of other Reddit users echoed a similar sentiment, praising the mom’s quick thinking, bravery, and physical prowess to tackle a running target.
The degenerate luckily got what was coming to him and was charged with “possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.”
