Texas Republican Chip Roy, currently serving in Congress, was once chief of staff for Senator Ted Cruz. Thatโs enough to tell you a lot about his political stance. Heโs known for being incredibly vocal about where he stands on issues, like claiming Planned Parenthood murders babies, puts them in freezers, and is somehow funding Palestine. In fact, he was once in a rift with President Trump after insulting the โBig Beautiful Bill.โ Now, heโs proving republicans, once again, say the darndest things.
โThe truth is, Marxists, radicals, and the Islamists the Democratic party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth,โ Republican Rep. Chip Roy boldly claimed of the No Kings protests in a public accountment. โThe truth is that there is a king, and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it. His administration has been willing to say it,โ Chip added.
What makes it even worse isnโt the fact he decided to take a religious route on his position. He brings one more person into the matter too, as he adds, โAnd Charlie Kirk was willing to say it, and he got killed for it,โ turning Kirkโsomeone who was loved by far-right extremistsโinto a martyr.
Whatโs so funny about this is people like Roy donโt agree democrats should be out sharing their opinions. The peaceful gatherings that took place this past weekend at the protests were just too much for him to handle, apparently. In reality, Chip Roy is pushing the narrative that everyone else, except republicans, are the problem.
One commenter posted a Barry Goldwater quote in response to the video. He simply stated, โMark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the Republican party, and theyโre sure trying to do so, itโs going to be a terrible [expletive] problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they canโt and wonโt compromise. I know, Iโve tried to deal with them.โ
Another person added, โThe MAGA leaders are like Pharisees, self-righteous hypocrites. Jesus fought against the Pharisees, their judgmental ways and their overbearing laws. If Jesus is real, then he would be fighting against MAGA,โ and yet that goes right over Royโs head. But good on him for somehow connecting Charlie Kirk, democrats, Jesus, and the No Kings protests all in one go.
