A woman from Texas is sharing a shocking story about having her privacy violated by the one person she is supposed to be able to trust the most in the world — her husband. The stay-at-home mother recently took to social media to reveal her chilling story, admitting that she recently discovered that her husband of a decade has been using secret hidden cameras that he set up around their house to keep tabs on her while he’s not home.
The Texas native took to Reddit to ask for legal advice about her situation. The woman shared that her husband of more than ten years often works out of state. She claims she was fully aware that there were outdoor security cameras at their house. However, she never agreed to have any cameras placed inside their home.
The Reddit user confessed that she found a secret hidden camera in her husband’s phone charger, which he had put in an odd place, likely to capture video of her. The camera was positioned to have a view of the couple’s bedroom. She then came to the conclusion that her husband has been spying on her without her consent or knowledge for months.
Upon further searches, the Texas mother found four other cameras that weren’t yet set up. She also discovered manuals for other cameras that she didn’t find, prompting questions about where more cameras may be hidden in the house.
Texas Mother Discovers Husband’s Been Spying On Her With Hidden Cameras
“I feel completely violated and like I’m living in a fishbowl. I don’t know where the other cameras are and I don’t know what to do. This is our bedroom. It’s a personal and private area and he’s been recording me without my knowledge or consent. I don’t feel safe. At this point I want a divorce but I don’t know how to go about this or what to do, if anything, about this gross invasion of my privacy,” the woman wrote in her post.
People immediately began to give her advice, revealing that she may not be safe, and that her husband could have control problems or other issues. They urged the woman to get herself and her children to safety, but to remember that her husband may be watching her, or even tracking her phone.
“You should also assume your phone and car is being tracked. Definitely tell someone you know in case God forbid something happens. But please go see a divorce attorney sooner rather than later,” one person advised.
“It is a felony to record people in private spaces without their knowledge. This includes the bedroom or bathroom,” said another.
“It is illegal in Texas to record someone in this circumstance. You should call the police, press charges, and request domestic violence resources. This is controlling and abusive behavior. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Please be safe,” a third person wrote.
“This is grounds for immediate divorce,” a fourth comment read.
The comments section of the post was very loving and concerned. People are now hoping for the best for the Texas woman and wishing her well as she deals with the consequences of her husband’s betrayal.
