Walking is a fantastic form of exercise and can have an impact on one’s health in many positive ways. However, for this Texas woman, her walk in Austin was far from beneficial. Luckily, she would post a TikTok video to the account @MichaelaDiehl that explains her scary run-in on the Lady Bird Lake Trail. The video has around 270K views with 19K likes, as it continues to do numbers on the social media app.
The TikTok starts with the woman sitting on the floor in what seems to be her kitchen. From there, she states that this story is for anyone who “Lives in Austin, Texas.” She then claims that the people who live around that area need to know what’s going on at Lady Bird Lake Trail. The woman explains that she and a friend were planning to walk the trail, but instead were followed by a strange man for miles. What was supposed to be a 10-mile walk was turned into a real-life horror show for anyone in that situation.
Texas Woman Has Close Call While on Walk
The woman in the video states that she and her friend had stopped around two miles into the walk to switch paths. However, shortly after they stopped, a strange man would appear and start giving the women directions. After a brief talk, the women would tell the man they planned on completing a full loop before heading home. The TikToker would then claim this was definitely a “mistake.”
As the women began their walk once again, unfortunately, it wouldn’t be long before the strange man would start following them. The Texas Woman claimed the man followed them for around three miles, mirroring their pace, and just about everything else they did. She claims he would stop when they stopped, and even got too close for comfort sometimes. This led the women to feel like they had to “get away” or “escape” from the man. The TikTok’s comment section was just as horrified as anyone would be. “The world is a crazy place,” wrote one.
As the women noticed the man following them, they would allegedly start talking about how they were going to meet their fathers for lunch, in an attempt to deter the man from pursuing them any more than he had already. However, this plan seemingly worked as both women were able to return to their vehicles. The strange man’s fate is unclear in this case. However, the important part is that nobody was harmed. The world can be a pretty scary place; hopefully, these women never have to experience something like this ever again.
