As promised, the first trailer for the newest Star Wars Disney Plus series, The Acolyte has been released. The trailer finally gives fans a look at The High Republic era of Star Wars, which takes place before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. The trailer – which you can watch below – confirms that the series will follow Ahsoka’s premiere schedule, with the first two episodes being released simultaneously. The date was revealed alongside the poster for the series yesterday, so you’ll be able to watch the two-episode premiere on June 4, 2024.
Masters of Teras Kasi
The trailer – which comes in at just under two minutes – contains many interesting elements for Star Wars fans to sink their teeth into—starting with a first look at Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) as a Jedi Master. There are a couple of scenes with Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) as a Jedi channeling Trinity with some cool Force wielding as well. We also see Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies) dressed in some mighty fine chainmail. The Acolyte stars Dafne Keen (Logan), Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang), Charlie Barnett (Chicago Fire), and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), all of whom are in the trailer.
By far the most intriguing and coolest moment from the trailer is when an unknown Force-user (most likely a Sith of some kind) chops some trees down with a red lightsaber. They then proceed to knock out at least six (maybe seven) Jedi with their abilities. It was previously reported that The Acolyte will have more Jedi than any previous Star Wars project, so this trailer must be only a glimpse of how much of The High Republic era we’ll be seeing. Created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), you can watch The Acolyte during its two-episode Disney Plus premiere on June 4, 2024.
