Two years ago, Rooster Teeth released their first feature length film, Lazer Team, with their partners at Fullscreen. Since then, the Austin-based company has announced that Lazer Team 2 is currently in production. This past week, they announced the official cast list for the film which features some new faces along with the personalities that we already know and love.
Obviously, some of our favorite Rooster Teeth personalities, Michael Jones, Gavin Free, and co-founder Burnie Burns, will be reprising their roles as Zach, Woody, and Hagan. Colton Dunn (Key & Peele) will also be reprising his role from the original Lazer Team as Herman. The film will also feature Nichole Bloom (Shameless, Superstore) as a new lead role as well as Victoria Pratt (Heartland, Mutant X).

The first Lazer Team, one of the most successfully crowdfunded films of all time, focuses on a small group of misfits that must work together to save the world from aliens after stumbling across an extraterrestrial battle suit. The second iteration of the series will focus on bringing the Lazer Team back together. Woody (Gavin Free) goes missing after working on some super secret alien technology and it is up to scientist, Maggie Wittington (Nichole Bloom), to bring him back safely. However, she can’t fo it alone and must try her best to get the old Lazer Team back together to rescue their friend.
Like the original Lazer Team, Rooster Teeth’s latest film will be available on Youtube Red, Youtube’s paid subscription service. They have also partnered with Tugg to have the film shown in specific theaters all over the world based on the demands of their fans. Rooster Teeth is most well known for their content, Red vs Blue, RWBY, the first western anime to be distributed in Japan, and Immersion, a show that’s dedicated to bringing the insanity of video games into reality.
