Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton once again find themselves pitted against each other despite having tougher pills to swallow. Kate and Meghan’s journeys as members of the British Royal family have seen them brave many controversies and public opinions mostly packed with scrutiny. However, pitting the two against each other is a common denominator in these verbal daggers seeing as they are wed to the infamous royal brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Royal Expert Claims Meghan Markle Would Make a Better Queen Than Kate Middleton
The latest involved a royal insider’s statement seemingly comparing Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s leadership qualities. In a recent interview with Good Day New York, royal expert Rob Shutter opined that Meghan and not Kate should become the next Queen. According to him, the Duchess of Sussex, who made a name for herself as an actress before joining the royal family, is “the most cut out” to be queen.
Rob’s opinion stemmed from his analysis of the contrasting personalities of the two royals. While he described Kate as “quite shy” and aversed to the fame that comes with it, the royal expert admitted Meghan had a natural inclination to be in the spotlights, a necessary criterion to take on the royal mantle. Defending his opinion, Rob shared,
“[Kate is] arguably one of the most famous people in the world. She’s not a natural at this. She desperately wanted to marry William. She loves him, but she’s not a show pony.”
Going further, Rob Shutter explained how the “shy” Kate Middleton had to undergo extensive training in public speaking to be better suited for life as a senior member of the royal family, and the future Queen. He added,
“Ironically, the one that’s most cut out for this? Meghan. Meghan Markle would have been a fabulous show pony Queen like she knows how to do this. Kate would rather be in the country with her dogs and kids, and that’s where she is now.”
Would Kate Step Back From Royal Duties Amid Family Controversies?
Rob also weighed in on Kate Middleton’s continued absence from the public eye since her abdominal surgery in January. According to him, her absence was an indication of her being fed up with the royal spotlight. The royal expert claimed the Princess of Wales could potentially leave the family as a working royal, whispers he supposedly heard from insiders.
Unlike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton would not leave the United Kingdom after her step back, but would remain an “absentee queen.” He also clarified that he was not implying the Prince and Princess of Wales were on the verge of getting a divorce.
Rob’s claims came amid heightened concern over Kate Middleton’s health. Following her abdominal surgery, the royal family announced the Princess would stay away from royal duties during her recovery period which would extend until Easter. Yet, the prolonged absence has birthed several conspiracy theories spurring growing concerns. This was further fueled by her recent Photoshop controversy.
Meghan on the other hand is facing a delicate situation with her and Harry’s public image on the line amid widespread criticism. With the two royals experiencing challenging periods with their public reputations under question, dealing with media-manufactured rivalry is the last thing they need.
