Just in time for spooky season The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes releases this month on October 22.  The third installment of the Dark Pictures Anthology will be set in the Arabian Desert. Follow along as five people try to escape a Sumerian temple.  Just remember your choices decided who lives and dies.  This game is going to be a wild ride. The team just released a Character Introduction trailer which you can find below!

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes - Character Introduction Trailer

The Dark Pictures Anthology

The Dark Pictures Anthology games are in the simplest form choose your own adventure games.  As a result, we describe these types of games as Branching Cinematic Horror games. As you progress through the game, you’ll be faced with choices that influence the outcome. Those choices determine if characters live or die and how certain events happen. The biggest takeaway from that is that there will be multiple outcomes and endings to the games. It will take multiple playthroughs to complete and unlock everything that these games have to offer. Likewise, you can even play cooperatively with 2-5 friends.

House of Ashes

Set at the close of the Iraq War in the Arabian desert.  A team of military forces looking for weapons of mass destruction unearths something far worse, a Sumerian temple with deadly creatures.  Most importantly the team members will need to put aside their fight from above ground and work together to survive the temple. In addition, you will need to decide if each team member worries about their survival or the team’s survival.  As a result, every single decision you make will be life or death.

This game could be the best The Dark Pictures game yet with a fantastic setting and a great cast.  To sum up we are in for a huge surprise with this game and going forward.  With a less than stellar reception for The Dark Pictures Little Hope, House of Ashes looks to be a great recovery.  Make sure you are ready on October 22nd for the Halloween scare you are looking for.
