Supermassive Games is expanding The Dark Pictures Anthology IP to the world of virtual reality. That’s right, the haunting horror series from the developer is sharing a new story with The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. Expect to be on a rollercoaster of a hell ride, as PSVR 2’s technological capabilities will take horror to the next level. To celebrate this intense realm of terror, Supermassive Games have unveiled the launch trailer for The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR.
Hold On Tight for the Ride of Your Unfortunate Life in Switchback VR
Beforehand, we mentioned that The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR would be a rollercoaster of a ride. We meant that in the literal sense: the launch trailer for Switchback VR places us in the front seat of an eerie track. Racing from one effective room to the next, you’ll embark on a ridiculous atmospheric experience coupled with plenty of blood and bullets.
Supermassive Games have actually implemented something special for fans of The Dark Pictures Anthology. From Season One, the tales of Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, and The Devil in Me make a remixed return. Various locations from these previous Dark Picture Anthology are on display; all interconnected along a railway where you must defend yourself. Need a quick scare? Check out the launch trailer, which we’ve attached above.
Switchback VR is a standalone title. It is a separate gaming experience that differs from the expected Dark Pictures Anthology formula, with VR now taking the spotlight. In fact, Bandai Namco is absent from the publisher’s seat; Supermassive Games has taken over for this round.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Supermassive VR is available now for the PSVR 2 headset. It’s currently priced at $39.99.
