The Dragon Prince is getting four more seasons on Netflix to complete the full saga. The show has come full circle as the announcement was revealed during ComicCon@Home just like the first trailer did back in 2018.
It’s happening! Announced during our Comic-Con@Home panel “Zoom into Xadia,” THE SAGA IS COMING! Netflix has ordered seasons 4, 5, 6, and 7 of The Dragon Prince!”
Comic-Con isn’t happening in person this year, so the cast and developers of the show sat down for an at-home panel to discuss the show. It included voice actors and actresses Paula Burrows (Rayla), Jack De Sena (Callum), Sasha Rojen (Ezran), Erik Todd Dellums (Aaravos), Racquel Belmonte (Claudia), Jesse Inocalla (Soren), and Jason Simpson (Viren). As well as the creators of The Dragon Prince, Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond.
The panel opened with the cast performing a scene of their characters coming together to talk about the show. Of course, there were slight spoilers from all three seasons, so if you haven’t watched it yet, be warned.
The full 40-minute panel contained viewer questions and a few other surprises. Releasing on August 18, 2020, is a full art book titled The Art of the Dragon Prince. It contains never before seen images from the show, behind the scenes information, and details about the world of Xadia. The cast then jumped back into character and read from the upcoming graphic novel The Dragon Prince: Through the Moon. It takes place just after the events of season three and is cannon in the world of The Dragon Prince. It releases October 6, 2020.
For fans of tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder, The Dragon Prince is also getting a tabletop game too.
The last question was perhaps the biggest of them all, will there be a season four? To that, Ehasz responded by saying Netflix not only picked up the fourth season but also signed on for the entire saga. The response was even a huge surprise to the entire cast who were left in the dark about the future of the show. We’ll have to wait to see when the next season hits Netflix though, as there was no announcement of a release date.
