While Naoe and Yasuke already begin their journeys with some useful skills, you’ll need to unlock stronger ones to face some of the game’s most challenging foes. So far, we’ve talked about how Knowledge Ranks work and how to unlock those skill rows. Now, we’ll discuss the easiest ways to obtain Mastery Points in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Even if there are many ways to do so, a few are faster than others.

Before you unlock the different optional organizations Naoe and Yasuke have to target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, defeating Samurai Daisho is the easiest way to obtain Mastery Points. While these enemies are difficult to defeat, each one rewards one Mastery Point. Usually, castles have between two to four Samurai Daisho, meaning you can get that amount of Mastery Points for both of your characters. Another incentive to pursue these targets is the Legendary Chest you can open once you defeat them all, so besides getting points to unlock new skills, you’ll also get a Legendary item.

Secondary Targets

Once you start unlocking secondary targets, which are a lot, these will be another good way of obtaining Mastery Points, albeit a bit slower than Samurai Daisho. First, you need to either find the quest that gives you the name of the organization and the breadcrumb quest or find one of those targets while you explore the open world. Regardless, each secondary target you kill will give you two Mastery Points. Most organizations have at least six secondary targets, so you can get 12 in one go if you focus on one. However, finding them takes longer than Samurai Daisho, and you might have to travel to high-level regions to complete them all. Yet, completing all targets in an organization will also give you a lot of experience and even Legendary items, so that should encourage you to find them all.

Regardless, you can mix and match both of these options while you explore. Some secondary targets are usually in towns where there are castles, so if you plan everything accordingly, you can kill a few Samurai Daisho before moving on to a different target. And if you get tired of killing, you can always finish quests to gain experience to level up, which also gives you one Mastery Point. Also, remember that Naoe and Yasuke share Mastery Points, so there’s no need to farm them separately.
