After unlocking Bunny and completing a side quest for the character, you’ll get to explore a new area called the Sterile Land. This is where you get a new side quest for unlocking the Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon in The First Descendant. The grind for crafting the Thunder Cage isn’t an interminable adventure, but you’ll still have to take down Eterllik the Tracker and kill as many Vulgus forces as needed.

How To Get the Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon

The Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon is only unlockable through research, and you need to find four different materials to begin the crafting procedure:

  • Thunder Cage Polymer Syncytium – Rock Fall
  • Thunder Cage Synthetic Fiber – Restricted Zone
  • Thunder Cage Nano Tube – Repository
  • Thunder Cage Blueprint – Iron Works

The first thing you need to do is to progress through the story. That is the only way that you can open the different areas in the Sterile Land, thus accessing the questline of unlocking the Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon; unless you want to spend some cash to buy the weapon.

You’ll start at the Rock Fall, where a total of four field objectives will be marked for you. Complete them, and you’ll access the Restricted Zone area; same drill, different location. Progressing through the Repository, however, you’ll have to kill Eterllik the Tracker to reach the final part.

How To Defeat Eterllik the Tracker

The only boss standing between you and the Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon is Eterllik the Tracker. This boss fight has three phases. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  • First, shoot the boss as much as you can until he puts up his shield.
  • To take down the shield, shoot the four diamond-shaped fuses around him. This part is a bit tricky, but if you use an OP sniper rifle, it can be down with one shot.
  • Once the shield is down, you can keep shooting the boss until he conjures three orbs attached to his back. Shoot them down to break Eterllik’s defence.

Repeat all the steps above three times and you’ll defeat Eterllik The Tracker. After that, the path for reaching the Iron Works will be open once you go back to Albion to speak with The Alpha.

Once you’ve obtained all the materials for the Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon, go back to Albion and speak with Anais to begin research. It takes four hours to complete, and you’ll then unlock the Thunder Cage gun in The First Descendent.
