With the end of 2020 in sight, the gaming community looks to 2021 to be the start of something new. In 2021, gamers can look forward to Deathloop, Halo: Infinite, Resident Evil 8 Village, and Hogwarts Legacy. Those are just a few of the titles scheduled to be released in 2021, however, many are not holding their breath after the disappointment of 2020. 2020 was full of delays and controversy, including the repeated delay of Cyberpunk 2077. Next week on December 10, CD Projekt Red will release Cyberpunk 2077 on the same day as The Game Awards. Today, we learned that The Game Awards will have a special presenter, Spiderman & Uncharted‘s Tom Holland.

With eight days until The Game Awards, we can expect that more surprises will be announced prior to the event. Geoff Keighley, the man behind The Game Awards, announced that Tom Holland would be a presenter via Twitter; in this tweet, Keighley used Holland’s Uncharted photo to make the announcement. We can expect that Holland will most likely help to debut a new trailer for the Uncharted movie.

The Uncharted movie is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2021. The upcoming movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer, who has previously worked on Zombieland, Venom, and Gangster Squad. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming for the project took longer than expected. Despite production ending in October, not much is known about the Uncharted film. So far, the world has only seen the promotional image of Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg with a fake mustache. Any trailer will have to blow the world away, which makes The Game Awards the perfect time to do so.
