I don’t know about you, but I tend to fall into a deep internet rabbit hole of research after reading even a remotely interesting story. This is especially true when TikTok users post real-time videos detailing what’s happening to them. Now, imagine if you found a story involving a woman, a rug, a hole, a backyard, and probably ghosts. I’m sure you’d want to dive into that rabbit hole.

I think my house is haunted!!!! #ghosthunting #ghosts

TikTok user katiesantry, known as Katie Santry, has been posting updates about a rug she found buried beneath a tree in her backyard. And she thinks it might be tied to paranormal things going on in her home. The saga begins with her talking about a few things that were out of place in her room. Then, she dives into how it might be because her family dug holes in the backyard to secure fence posts. In one of the holes. they discovered a buried rug. Every video updates viewers on the situation, the first being the discovery of a Bloodgood tree tag. It presumably belongs to the tree the rug is buried under.

Because the situation is so weird, commentators urge her to call the police, which she finally does. After looking over what appears to quite literally be the edge of a rolled-up carpet beneath two feet of mud, the police decide to call the next best thing: detectives. Katie frequently records her updates, making them appear on the For You Page of tons of potentially interested users.

I just found this 10 minutes ago and I’m already invested”

It’s improbable that there is a dead body wrapped in the carpet beneath the tree, as many of the comments suggest. However, I agree with some of the replies saying that it might be a deceased pet of the former homeowner, especially since a recent Live showed police dogs interested in the rug. Regardless of what it is, it’s good that she’s getting professionals involved instead of trying to pull it out herself.
