The March 29 update for The Last of Us PC has arrived, and here are all the changes and improvements mentioned in the patch notes. The Last Of Us is one of the best games ever made, but the critically and commercially acclaimed title had quite a rocky launch on PC. Not only was the game riddled with performance issues, but it even refused to boot on computers that, in some cases, far exceeded the minimum requirements. The game’s shaders took a painfully long time to load up, something that impacted the beefiest of machines.
Iron Galaxy was tasked with the PC port. The developer is no stranger to porting big games to PC, though. The studio has previously ported big-name titles such as Spyro, Batman Arkham Series, Skyrim, and Crash N’ Sane Trilogy, among many others. The developers have admitted that the issues exist, and they are aware of it and working on it. Here are some of the most prominent issues that should be in the patch notes for the March 29 update for The Last of Us PC:
The Last of Us PC March 29 update Patch Notes
Update Size: 2.9 GB (some have gotten a far smaller update for some reason)
- Loading shaders takes longer than expected
- Performance and stability is degraded while shaders are loading in the background
- Older graphics drivers leads to instability and/or graphical problems
- Game may be unable to boot despite meeting the minimum system requirements
- A potential memory leak
If you were hoping this patch will fix everything, unfortunately, that is not the case. This update has either made no improvements for some players or in some cases, has reduced the game’s performance even further.
