A disturbing incident in Boca Raton, Florida, is taking the Internet by storm after a group of older men was exposed for harassing a young boy. A woman shared the story on TikTok, pointing out that it appeared that the local authorities were not tackling the issue as she had expected. She overlaid the original video, showing about six to seven older men surrounding a young boy, about 13 or 14, passing his phone among themselves and roughing him up. She noted that the men had seized the boy’s phone because he was “running wheelies” while riding his e-bike.

As seen in the clip, the men refused to give the little boy his phone, claiming that one of them had instructed him to stop what he was doing, but he did not and even laughed in his face. The boy argued that one of the men had hit him, and he had proof of it on his phone. He also asked for his phone to call his parents, but the adults refused, urging him to instead call his guardians with their phones. In the background, a woman, whose face wasn’t captured, kept warning the young boy not to struggle with the men, threatening him with “juvie” if he retaliated against any of the men. All the while, they kept tossing the teenager and grabbing him violently.

As the teenager’s assault was ongoing, a group of children stood at the other side of the street, rooting for the boy and asking the men to leave him alone. The TikToker explained that despite security arriving at the scene to settle the dispute, the men still didn’t return the teenager’s phone, using their alleged influence to continue their abuse of power. According to TikToker, while security personnel didn’t effect any justice, an article stated that one of the men who had allegedly hit the boy had been arrested. The man, identified as a workman’s compensation lawyer, was given a notice to appear at the police station. However, that doesn’t seem like sufficient punishment for the atrocities committed against the young kid.

“I have a feeling local law enforcement is gonna let these ‘Rich Karens’ get away with it. I am so [expletive] tired of old, rich men in Florida being able to touch children and get away with it,” she lamented.

Outcry Prevails Over Alleged Injustice Towards Teenager

Netizens immediately flooded the comments with reactions expressing indignation at the apparent power imbalances and legal violations depicted in the video.

One individual noted that the clip raised an intense emotional reaction in them: “The level of rage this brings me.” Someone else noted that the clip just made it obvious that the men believed they were above the law, adding, “We’re witnessing the birth of an elite class that thinks they cannot be touched. That’s the only way this makes sense. I suggest this boy lawyers up and touches the [expletive] out of them.”

One TikToker questioned the general psychological state of men living in Florida, writing, “Why does it seem the most impulsive, fragile & emotionally unstable men are compelled to reside in Florida?” Another one echoed, “Florida sounds miserable… no matter what you hear about it…everyone is miserable.” One commenter added, “What got me is they wouldn’t let him have his phone to call his dad.” Another highlighted, “This is considered false imprisonment in Florida; he’s being held against his will, and his communication has been taken. This is sickening!”

A last user explained how the clip was proof that children no longer wanted to play outside. The unfortunate incident in Florida is a cry for the collective safety of children. Adults are meant to protect young ones, not further harm them.
