Sonic Origins is the brand new remaster of classic Sonic the Hedgehog titles up until Sonic CD that includes a variety of improvements, including remastered visuals, cutscenes, and two game modes. Nevertheless, Sonic Origins also still contains a returning fan-favorite feature: cheat codes. Ready to have some classic fun with the Blue Blur once again? Here is the list of every cheat code you can use in Sonic Origins.
Keep in mind that all cheats codes work in the Classic or Anniversary modes, multiple cheats can be activated at once, and they won’t disable Achievements/Trophies. Every cheat codes listed here are also only for the Sonic Origins version; if you’re playing the old games through retro consoles or emulators, you might want to check older cheat sites instead.

Accessing Hidden Palace Zone
Hidden Palace Zone is listed in the Level Select menu, but it isn’t inaccessible until you’ve accessed it first through conventional means. After unlocking the Zone, you can return to it any time you want via Level Select. Here’s how to unlock it:
- Run Mystic Cave Zone until you reach Act 2.
- Follow the bottom route until you reach the part where you have to jump and hang on a switch to open a closed bridge.
- Instead of jumping onto the switch, just dive down into the pit.
- You won’t lose a life; instead, you’ll start out in the Hidden Palace Zone.
- Clearing Hidden Palace Zone will transport you to the next Zone, the Oil Ocean Zone.
- Check unleashedO2’s video below if you need help.
However, other cut Zones — Wood Zone, Dust Hill Zone, Genocide City Zone, and Proto Palace Zone — don’t seem to be available in Sonic Origins even through cheat codes.

Instantly Unlock Sonic Origins PS5 Trophies
To test this – I started Sonic Origins on PS4, and when booting the PS5 version, there is a prompt to transfer save data. Assuming Trophies pop again, if you have a PS5 and want a double Platinum, play the PS4 version first! pic.twitter.com/tK7YntVND1
— Matthew Reynolds (@Crazyreyn) June 23, 2022
According to Eurogamer’s Matthew Reynolds, if PS5 players play the PS4 version of Sonic Origins first through the backward compatibility feature and get the Platinum Trophy, you can transfer your save to the PS5 version to unlock the Platinum Trophy again. A nice trick for Cheevohunters out there.
