While seeing cops do things that endanger civilians isn’t new, they have been on a roll lately and acting more unhinged than ever. As you know, things in Los Angeles aren’t too great right now. From tear gas flying around to horses trampling people, everything is pure chaos in the city. Sadly, there is another situation where the authorities are just using scare tactics and overkill operations to scare people. A recent situation like this occurred in the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, where the police department deployed 13 vehicles to arrest just one man.
The video comes from Redditor Palpable_Soul. They recorded a police operation in Los Angeles, where 13 patrol vehicles were deployed to arrest one man. According to the OP, this man was Asian, and the event occurred on Alpine Street in the Chinatown neighborhood. This might be yet another scare tactic involving ICE and other law enforcement organizations. However, people have started to see how ridiculous and over-the-top these things are, especially if the situation involves one man only.
In the above video, the arrested man is lying on the street and does not present a threat to anyone. Yet, many vehicles around him show that the Los Angeles police just wanted to scare people instead of making a proper arrest.
This is just one of the few situations people in Los Angeles are living with right now. As you know, there were many protests during the weekend. Most of them escalated and led to vandalism and even the deployment of the National Guard. Still, it seems the authorities have no idea about what they are doing. Some police officers are shooting people in the face who are not doing anything. Then, we have cases like this where the PD deploys over a dozen vehicles to arrest one seemingly harmless man.
As you can imagine, many citizens in Los Angeles are questioning the police department after seeing this event unfold:
“Can someone do the math on how much this arrest is costing us?” – mutualaidlosnageles via Reddit.
At the time of writing, it is uncertain what the man did to deserve the deployment of these many patrol cars. Many assume it is another ICE thing that we have seen almost daily. If so, this was just overkill. If not, we’ll have to wait for the authorities to reveal why this individual was arrested.
