The Mandalorian, the highly anticipated upcoming Star Wars series, recently revealed air dates for all Season 1 episodes. It’s common knowledge that the series is launching alongside Disney+. But series creator Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) stated only the first episode would air alongside the streaming service’s launch. The rest will be doled out one at a time. But now, thanks to a report by starwarsnewsnet.com, we know exactly when we’ll see them.
- Series Premiere – November 12th
- Second Episode – November 15th
- Third Episode – November 22nd
- Fourth Episode – November 29th
- Fifth Episode – December 6th
- Sixth Episode – December 13th
- Seventh Episode – December 18th
- Season Finale – December 27th
The news comes via a Disney press release, so it’s likely trustworthy. As you can see, the episodes won’t quite release on a weekly basis. There’s only a three-day wait between the first and second episodes. But we’ll have to wait nine days in between episode seven and the season finale. However, that’s most likely due to premiering around the Holidays.
The Mandalorian takes place five years after the events in Return of the Jedi. We’ll follow a bounty hunter on the outskirts of the galaxy, far from the reaches of the New Republic. It stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Kingsman: The Golden Circle) as the morally grey bounty hunter. It also stars Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, and Taika Waititi as a droid.
The Mandalorian is currently one of four Star Wars shows in development for Disney+. The platform will see a show centered on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Then there’s the untitled series following Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna in Rogue One. Disney also announced a sixth season for the animated show, The Clone Wars, which is coming in 2020. That’s not to mention all of the existing Star Wars shows and movies that will launch with Disney+ on November 12th.
