This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Medium has rocketed to the top of the Xbox Series X games fans are most interested in over the last few weeks. Most of that interest was earned because of the original story it seems to employ.

There’s also the truly eerie look the title carries with it. The fact that it’s one of the only new Series X games that will launch exclusively on that console this year shouldn’t be discounted either.

Whatever the reason for the interest, it’s got a chance to be a cult hit. Members of that cult should be excited today. The Medium finally has a launch date.

Bloober Team’s latest project arrives on December 10. Previously, the title was only slated for the “Holiday Season.”

Alongside a release date, developers pushed out a new trailer on Friday morning. The new trailer shows off the world players will explore as Marianne.

She’s tasked with unraveling a mystery that takes place in two worlds. There’s our own, regular world. Then there’s the dark “mirror” world Marianne discovers inside The Medium.

The game arrives on the Xbox Series X and Series S exactly a month after the consoles officially launch. It also releases on the Epic Games Store and Steam on the same date.

Bloober has billed the game as one where you play in both worlds of The Medium at once. For now, the trailers released have mostly given users a look at the world. There hasn’t been a ton of info on the mechanics.

A little over two months from release, it stands to reason we’re about to get more info soon.

The Medium Strategy

Bloober made a sound strategic move with the timing of its newest release. There will be just enough interest in a brand new game after the console has been on the market for a month.
