Despite the fervent prayers of Tammi Menendez and her supporters, the desired effect did not seem to manifest in the Menendez brothers‘ ongoing case. Erik and Lyle Menendez’s resentencing hearing gets a new judge amid a transfer to the initial court of the trial. Judge Michael V. Jesic of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, is now in charge of the resentencing hearing for the Menendez brothers. His decisions could have a significant impact on the outcome of the case.
The sudden twist contradicts Tammi’s prayers, which she posted on X/Twitter 4 days ago. “I will pray the resentencing Judge Ryan believes that they have,” she wrote. Well-wishers trooped to the comments, echoing her sentiments and prayers with hopes for the brother’s release.
“We are praying for ur entire family! erik and lyle deserve to be home,” this user replied to Tammi’s post. “Everyone – Pray for Judge William C. Ryan BY NAME in your prayers. Ask God to fill him with compassion and reason, so that he may be lead to making the right decision to FREE Erik and Lyle IMMEDIATELY. All Power is the Lord’s!,” another wrote.
“Praying for these sweet men they deserve only love and support from the world,” a supporter added. The prayers might not be for nothing yet as, according to TMZ, Jesic is renowned for being very smart and fair in his judgment.
Tammi Menendez Wanted Erik and Lyle Menendez’s Case To Take a Different Route
Aside from her apparently potent prayers, we noted that Tammi expressed mixed feelings after news of the resentencing decision. Her previous post on X read:
“Yesterday was a difficult and emotional day. I am Grateful to DA Gascon for his courage to seek re-sentencing for Erik, I am naturally disappointed he did not go further and act on his own belief that Erik and Lyle have served enough time in prison.”
The feeling is mutual on both sides, as Erik was eager to reunite with his wife upon his release. He shared his plans to go to Vegas and live with Tammi for the first time. The lovebirds married in 1999, six years after they began exchanging letters in 1993.
Tammi was not the only one who commented on the internet-breaking resentencing news. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who visited the brothers in prison, reacted to the news on her socials. The mother-of-four affirmed her belief in the American justice system as she concluded the post, writing:
“I believe in the justice system’s ability to evolve, and I am grateful for a society where we can challenge decisions and seek justice. Never stop questioning.”
All eyes are on Judge Michael V. Jesic as he handles the historic case of the Menendez brothers.
