It’s awards season again and the nominations for the 77th annual Golden Globes Awards have just been announced. Leading the nominations is Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story, which received six nominations. Just behind it is The Irishman and Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood with five. And Todd Phillips’ monstrously successful Joker received four; quite the feat for a comic book movie.
The Golden Globes were created by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 1943. The ceremony celebrates the actors, directors, writers, and musicians that brought viewers fantastic experiences throughout the year in film and TV.
This year marks a big one for streaming services. Netflix received 17 nominations across film and TV. Both The Crown and Unbelievable brought in four. But works from Amazon and Hulu also make appearances. You can check out the full list of nominees below.
